Vidya Balan was won the best actress at the 13th IIFA awards on Saturday night for her character of south siren Silk Smitha in ‘The Dirty Picture’ movie, when Ranbir Kapoor taken the best actor award for Rockstar movie.

“I thank the crew of Rockstar, including Mohit Chauhan and Ranbir Kapoor, for their cooperation. Thanks to Javed Akhtar, we can all have our rights to our music now that the Copyright Act has been amended”, AR Rahman, who was won the best music director for Rockstar movie, told.

Zoya Akhtar taken the best story award for (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) ZNMD film and best director, while Farhan Akhtar won best backing actor award for the (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) ZNMD film.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) won the best movie award, hitting Rockstar, The Dirty Picture, Bodyguard and No One Killed Jessica.

Vidya Balan, who has won the best actress at every award ceremony this year IIFA, consented the chime from renowned Hollywood producer Barrie M Osborne and veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Hassan.

Vidya Balan said, “To get the award from such an actor whom I have worshipped all my life is an honour. Seven years ago my first film Parineeta premiered at IIFA Amsterdam and today I am winning the best actress award here.”

“I am grateful to have got the opportunity to work with masterminds like Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman and my grand uncle Shammi Kapoor in this film”, Ranbir said, on the stage of IIFA during accpeting his award.

Parineeti Chopra won two awards as best supporting actress and best female debutante for her role in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.

Prakash Raj won the best actor in a negative role award for the humorous villain in Singham film, when Riteish Deshmukh took the best actor in a funny role award for Double Dhamaal.

The awards were given away at a bright ceremony here went to my the who’s who of Bollywood. Performances by actors like – Ranbir Kapoor with father Rishi, Prabhu Deva and Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor kept the audience entertained.
